Very impressed by him yesterday. Hard to believe he is only 15. Brilliant. Kayode looked more confident too. I went away thinking we have reason to be more positive. and well done to Jimmy Anderson and Monty this evening. A very exciting draw.
he's 16 now...... hope to see more of him, and other academy lads thought all four of em did well...... potter especially impressed me
RE: Praise for the Academy-wow theres a thing nt also, praise to the board and Davey (for once) for not letting him go to Man Utd for nothing!!
RE: Praise for the Academy-wow theres a thing nt get real in manure had wanted him he would be there now
RE: Praise for the Academy-wow theres a thing nt If Man Utd had fancied RNL when he went on his two week trial, they would have signed him. and they would have only had to pay compensation which would have been decided by the tribunal and would have been less than £250k taking into account what Tottenham paid Palace for Bostock and he was the captain of the England Under 17 team. They didn't take him which hopefully will be to our club's advantage. But it would be unfair for the fans to expect RNL to start games at this stage. We should not be putting him under any additional pressure.
That's correct. He is 16 years old in August. Another reason why we should not expect too much from him just yet!
15?! fecking hell, he's good for 15... should give him maybe a few starts if he impresses for the dev squad.. still got a few years for him yet
We should loan him out to our nearest Conference club - see if he can get a few goals and get used to the physical side of the game
Disagree entirely I think it would be far more beneficial for him to work with this new development coach. I wouldn't like to see him having the skill kicked out of him playing against a bunch of cloggers every week. Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea don't send their young stars out to get a good shoeing and I see no reason why we should.
Even better...... forget GCSE's crack on wiv ya footy son!!!! I reckon real reason he played last yr Following Bostock's transfer to Tottenham, many teams around the country were bricking it i.e. their academy stars allowed to leave for little money. I reckon legal teams around the country were advising clubs that youth players values would be dramtically reduced if they had not made a first team appearance. This is why I feel RNL made a few late subs appearances, involvement in the first team would mean increase in value at tribunal if bigger clubs came sniffing. I may be wrong but even though Bostock was England U17 captain I'm not sure he had any involvement with the first team........ this is why I feel tribunal set value so low, as he was unproven.
if he's good enough play him..... Rooney was 16 just, as was owen etc when the started on the scene. He looked confident and composed on the ball unlike some of the more experienced lads.....
RE: Disagree entirely I'm struggling to think of the young stars that Liverpool and Chelsea have brought through in recent times - I thought they just bought their young players from other clubs who have nurtured them. The difference between the top sides is that they have plenty of either meaningless games or games against vastly inferior teams in which to blood their younger players. We do not. Would you start RNL or Adam in any of our league fixtures? I wouldn't even expect them to start against Lincoln.
RE: Even better...... forget GCSE's crack on wiv ya footy son!!!! I reckon real reason he played las Bostock had played in Palace's 1st team on at least half a dozen occasions.
No I wouldn't start them yet They need work with the development coach. That's why we've employed him.
