According to Chronicle he is set to go out on Loan, anyone else think it could be Bury?? Flitcroft has said he wants more Loan Signings
Bury would be the last place I'd go if I was Reuben. Flitcroft was one of the managers who has contributed to the state he finds himself in right now. The lad needs to get away from Oakwell to a new environment and to a manager with no preconceptions as to the type of player Reuben is. That way Reuben can put his career back on track.
BFC have invested a lot of time and money in RNL and I just dont think he will make the grade. Compare this situation to Danny Rose, who realised he wasnt going to get a regular starting place, so moved permanet for the good of his career. If I was in RNL's situation, I would be looking for a permanent move because I would be hungry to succeed at professional level. We know RNL does have natural talent, which leads me to believe he has not got the hunger and desire that is required.
I was talking to an ex-assistant Barnsley manager the other day and his view was that Reuben had been pushed too early. He said he was the type of person who needed nurturing but instead had been training with the first team way too soon. Wasn't overly optimistic he would make it. Which is a great shame in my opinion.
Possibly S****horpe for a loan , there is a good player in him , it could be a confidence issue with him though . A few months on loan could be good for him
Because he has had chance after chance...he cant get a constant run in the team because he isnt anywhere near good enough. He should have kicked on by now. I think its a waste of money paying him a wage when we all know he will get released
he's still only relatively young and still has time on his side to make the grade. but i don't think it's gonna be with barnsley. surely a permanent move would be best all round?
Chance after chance? He's barely played. No one here can have an accurate opinion on how good / bad he is unless they go to all the reserve games because he's not had the opportunities in the first team
you think the reserves is a good indicator of how good a player someone is? from what i've seen, it's like a training session
I actually think he's took quite a few chances when he's played in an attacking position. Scored a few great goals and looked a threat on occasion I've always been suspicious about why he always got dropped even after scoring though - obviously very unfit or something else is wrong Needs to get a run of games under his belt (obviously) so we should loan him out to some league 2 club ASAP
Not really. But at least if you've seen him regularly for the reserves you'll know more about the lad as he's not played enough for the first team for anyone to know how good he is
