Back on 22 June this year you posted a link to an FM type
thingy to play an MP3 player in the car, through the car stereo I think.

I have e.mailed the old BBS for the link, but no reply!

Oooh heck. That's going back some!

There are a few on the market.
One is called the iTrip - for the iPod presumably by the name but I don't know if it will work with others.
I seem to recall one made by a firm called AudiaX.  Try putting it in Kelkoo or pricerunner or whatever to find a good price.

Note, however, that FM transmitters like this are not legal in the UK.

Not sure where in tarn'd ave one.
Places like Maplins might but I think with the legal issues an online retailer might be a better bet.
