Lots of things have perplexed me this week but one keeps nagging at me. PC was twice described as "The owner of Barnsley Football Club" when interviewed on the radio the other day. Does anyone know if that is true? (cos I thought it was GS)
As far as I am aware GS is the owner of the sole share in the club. Given that the club apparantly owes Cryne £4m who owns it counts for nowt.
RE: As far as I am aware GS is the owner of the sole share in the club. Hang on a minute. Of course it matters who owns it. What if GS got p+ssed off and sold "the one share" to me. Is it all a gentleman's agreement? Doubt it. Liven yerself up a bit.
If he sold you the one share then great, all you would have to do was pay Cryne the £4m you would owe him and away you go, you own a club!
RE: If he sold you the one share then great, all you would have to do was Knew there was a catch! Do you reckon Cryne would put the club under in those circumstances? (P.S. I know what I think)
I believe, at the moment given ever confusing signals from the club, that if GS was in sole charge of affairs Ritchie would still be manager. So you can easily work out my answer.
I agree I suppose that being the soft sort of get that I am I tend to give people that say "I am just a fan like anyone else" the benefit of the doubt. When folks begin to be too clever though I start to get a dislike of them - especially when they start to exert real and tangible influence from the sidelines knowing that when push comes to shove then their investment is pretty safe.
Cryne once said it would probably be a fiasco if he started interfering in the football side of things. Can't help feeling that all the apparent sudden changes of heart from the chairman over the last month have been forced on him to a large extent. Hope thay've got it right though cos it's a big gamble going with the inexperince pair in at the moment.
RE: Cryne once said it would probably be a fiasco if he started When it comes to that - having sacked Ritchie then anything is going to be a gamble. For his own reasons PC wasn't about to back Ritchie - hope it isn't as petty as it seems to me. Don't like the idea of one man's whim dictating what goes off (even if he turns out to be justified!!!)
