Looks handy, worth spending a bit of money on. Oh wait. We already did. On developing him for someone else
Fair enough he's not going to win us the league but I reckon he'd have been a better bet than Wilkinson or Michael Smith this season. Best of luck to him at Pools anyway, he's better off there.
Delighted for him, what a birthday present. It's a shame Hartlepool couldn't thrash them or at least beat them, but that can come in the replay Sooner the cup loses Salford the better.
I'd have rather had Oates and Rose struggling up front that Wilkinson, Lita, Smith, Toney, Hemmings etc! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Easy to say in hindsight. At the start of the season, would you have chosen a 20 year old Rhys Oates with 9 professional apprarances to his name, and 6 non league goals, over a striker who'd just bagged 18 goals in a team that got to the league 1 play-off final the previous season. In hindsight we should have signed Jamie Vardy when he was released by Wednesday. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I think it was easy to see that Oates was a better bet than Wilkinson. Should have retained him and not loaned Wilkinson. Smith was a bonus signing that fleshy hasn't worked.
