Nice to see another academy graduate get on the bench on Saturday. Rhys Oates a second year scholar been at BFC since he was 9. Something must be right with our youth system???
Its either great or we are desperate. I hope its the former, I think it is. But sadly we hardly ever hold on to them long enough to gain any true benefit.
Re: Its either great The Academy, or its predecessor, is what has kept BFC going over the years. We would uncover and develop some great talent, who after a few games for us would be snapped up by a bigger club. This is just how it works with clubs of our size and means. It just saddens me of late that we seem to have let too many players go far too cheaply, and not just Academy players. We need to address this issue for the long term security of our beloved BFC. Look at Palace, £ 10 million, growing to £ 15 million for Zaha. We need to be getting these types of fees, and if Stones does have to go, then all the best to the lad, but please get as much as we can.
totally agree with you for the most part but the fees you quote are debatable. Its a kind of normale that defenders tend to be cheaper than the other outfield players. But yes I agree we put a very low price on our wares.
Re: totally agree with you for the most part I know Fergus. Wishful thinking on my part, but north of 500K once in a while would be nice.
Re: Its either great We hardly ever get players past 18 these days into the first team. There's a nice glass ceiling they hit. Hopefully for once there is a couple who can get through
There a few who have got through deleted. Stones rose RNL Clark Are all part of the long term plans if the Club can keep them here.
Without coming across as a bully Phil can i just point out that you may have referred to DEETEE as deleted.
Problem is were too obsessed with balancing the books. say for example we need 1.75m to balance the books thats what we will probably sell Stones for. We need to show ambition and keep these players as log as possible and sell for a fee that will enable us to progress and not just balance the books
I'm on a apply product JT. It seems to think it's a good idea to let me put what I want and then changed it. Sometimes for the better by putting the odd ' in it's but often for the worse. Like that.
They haven't got through yet though. Stones is half way there. The rest are peering through the cracks
28 games isn't making it. It's just Over half a season of championship football. Less than Dave mulligan. Less than o Callaghan at the same level. And you can see where their careers went. When he's got a season at this level under his belt then you can start saying he's made it.
