Great pub and bed n breakfast. Thoroughbreds clopping on the cobblestones in the village square at 5.00am as they make there way up to the chase for training (look out the window and watch them for a tick and then roll over). Castle down the lane where Richard did his knight training. Small village and pub. absolutely great weekend away in the Dales..

(Anybody else wish that Richard had kicked a bit more Lancastrian arse?)

I'm in Stokesly for the weekend for the Boro match, staying with a mate. I was thinking about having a wander for a few days while I'm up there and have the time, weather permitting. First thought was to head to Whitby but might just head west into the Dales having read that, ta. :)

Richard did try, but got his own arse kicked. Well, stabbed actually.

best call them first, it is not alweays easy to get a room... there are a few pubs on the square and they will give you someone else if they are busy... It gets booked out if there is racing nearby (not sure which tracks)

If you can't get in they'll put you up in the car park (or under) ;)

    Looks okay that, mate

I think the word that sums it up is 'character'.

If it hasn't got an en-suite medieval castle attached, I'm not interested! :D

There one next door to it for sale £185000 which very nice but needs a lot spending on it. It was first thing me n r lass did when we got home was to check house prices out. Bit to much for us. Nice village, especially if you're into hos racing
