What does Ritchie see that the rest of us don't?

My opinion on him is that he is a poor striker. We have only signed one bad player this season and its Richards. When Conlon was on the team sheet i used to think to myself, WHY, its like that with Richards now. He should be our 4th striker. But i will get behind any team that Ritchie picks.

I asked a perfectly feasible question.
I, along with many others on this Board, cannot see what Ritchie sees in Richards.
I wanted to promote a debate.
Someone has answered in a perfectly civil way and I agree with his/her thoughts.
As for being 'thick as pigshit' oh no, I don't think so.
The people who respond with threats and foul language are those who find it difficult to express what they want to say - just like you.
Maybe take a leaf out of your own book.

great ball winner, strong and can pass. All that lets him down his his vision sometimes, his quickness of thought on the ball and shooting. If he can improve on those things he will be a good player.

Ive no problem with anyone having their own opinion. My point is that you dont have your own opinion do you? Youve conveniently jumped on the anti Richards bandwagon which it seems is picking up speed on this board.

Where were all the Richards knockers when we were beating Scunny and Bradford. His contribution in those and other games is soon forgotten.

Is it a Barnsley thing to be so negative about everything?

I am perfectly capable of having my own opinion and post when I have something to say. I am not influenced by this Board in my opinions. My intellect is greater than that. I cannot see what Ritchie sees in Richards and wanted to know what other people on this Board thought.
Unlike perhaps you, I don't have the time to trawl the Board looking to see if what I have posted has been posted before lower down the Board.

Richards Highest paid Striker at the Club

His agent negotiated Richards a nice package for his contract for £275k for 18 months, now on a purely fans opinion how can ritchie see potential in Mark Richards when all around including their mothers wouldnt let him near a football.

I think he is ok, but does need work. Ritchie really needs to make him work on his awareness, and look up when he has the ball. He has a tendancy to just set off running with the ball, and not see the wide men calling for the pass. If he can sort that out then he will be a useful player.

 

He was superb against Hartlepool in the first half - aggressive and clever with his linking up/ laying off passes. He is however not the finished article!

I would like to see more of that. I am surprised to hear that he is the highest paid forward (proving that it is true!)
