At last fans are beginning to see his shortcomings, mainly his lack of fight.Paul Hayes IS good enough and needs a strike partner quick.Richards was a free and we shouldnt expect too much but he aint up for this level.

I don't personally believe he has the quality to score enough goals myself, but you can't knock his effort, he just doesn't have the 'right place at the right time' knack. Hayes on the other hand has quality in spades but too often fails to challenge for balls that are 5 yards away from him.

Shipps would help both players IMHO

Time and time again the defender jumps and wins the ball with Richards glued to the spot,Ar says he is his bully boy but he doesnt boss anybody, watch forwards like Steve Howard not the quickest but he does put himself about,no for me Richards aint good enough.

When did you last see Hayes put in as much effort as Richards?

Hayes is skillful but is a right big softy.

I'd bet, that if someone could be bothered to sit through Saturday's game video and watch it all and count headers, Hayes won more than Richards did.

I don't need to sit through a video, I was there. Hayes only challenged for one header throughout the match. He did win it, so I suppose on that basis he had a better percentage than Richards. It was in the second half, out on our left wing, against a fullback who was a good 4" shorter than him, not where it really matters, up against the big boys.

And when Hayes held off the 6"4 centre half brilliantly on a high ball, spun him and found Howard for the equaliser, you weren't looking, I presume?
