This Oval Test sees Richie's final commentating stint after 42 years as a cricketing pundit/commentator.

A class cricketer in his time, and a class commentator - easily ranking alongside greats such as John Arlott and Brian Johnston. His astute, reasoned, level-headed and often witty reporting has been a delight to listen to over the past 5 decades. John Motson could have, and should have!, learnt a lot from him - especially when to say something and when not to.

I hope that at some stage during this current game he receives a standing ovation from the Oval crowd - as he did from the Lords crowd in the C&G final last Saturday. He fully deserves it - as AIRy said last night, he's a Living Leg End!
