Said we deserved it and spoke highly of us. He made no excuses. What he's done the past few seasons, they will struggle to hold on to him.
Credit to him plenty would have come on and proper moaned, interesting I thought they had gone into that low block that we find very difficult to break down but apparently he didn't want that.
Aye, he was on my short list after Duff left in the summer. I actually thought they were one of the better sides we've played this season. They were very organised, and limited us to very little in the second half. Ironically, I think the ref losing control of the game is what gave us that little bit extra to force something out of the game.
Good account. I've noticed teams throw everything and the kitching sink at us from the off then tire. Having picked up on our poor showings during the first 45mins. We hopefully have become a 90 minute team as shown in the last 2 games.
Top player and good human being. Hope he makes a good career for himself. Still can't believe we didn't sign him as a player after he was on trial.
Talked a lot of sense post match. Good to see someone realising they've been beaten by the better side and having the honesty to say as much.
Refreshing interview that. Especially compared to the usual opposition coach interviews, like Steve Evans for instance.
Majority on their forum concurred with him tbf. There was one who claimed we ‘hoofballed’ them but most acknowledged their keeper had kept the score down and one even thought we were the best team they’d played - high praise indeed!
A lot of them thought we dominated them much more in the second half instead of the first half too, which surprised me. Goes to show how our fans and their fans see the differences. To us it's apparently "boring" but to them we played them off the park! Perhaps we are getting too Wednesday for our sins
Thought his assessment of the game was spot on and the credit he gave us was really honest. Wish him well.
I think the loss of Dan Happe within 15mins was a bit of a game changer. With it being a hamstring injury, could be missing for a few matches and using it as an excuse wouldn't be constructive. In other words, just the smart thing to do as opposed to being 'a nice guy & gracious loser'.
Yes, I noticed that as well. We definitely created the better chances in the first half. I think you’re correct about expectations too. Our fans have become accustomed to success at this level.
