First league game for us this season. Redfearn's Bar - absolutely top notch & fantastic praise to everyone involved in setting it up. Great beer at sensible prices, ditto the pie & peas. F1 on the big telly. Really, really well done. Oh, but can we have some plastic knives to go with the forks?? Trying to dismember that pork pie with one hand isn't easy! The game - daft, daft opening minute. They caught us cold, but never had another shot on target the whole match as I recall. Defence looked pretty solid, apart from that first moment of madness, but Nyatanga, despite the goal and an assist, just didn't look at it. Obviously other opinions are available, but he worried me. Ryan Williams could be a little gem - worked so hard, lunged in a bit when the ball got away from him and could possibly make the simpler pass a bit more often than he does, but otherwise very good to watch. We've got some greedy feckers, ain't we?? Jesus, we could have had six in that second half if our lads had taken a quick look up. Told my lad there was "about 10 and a half thousand" in Oakwell at half-time. Maybe I should start doing the lottery again. Great away support, although they did go from constant noise to almost deathly silence once the equaliser had gone in. Top, top day out - my lad asking straight off when we could come again as we left Oakwell.
I was there too and totally agree with you here if only they had looked up, two instances spring to mind Cole and Hourihane . However I am still buzzing from a 3-1 win, so not too fussed. That was my first home game this season too Loved every moment.
