why ???????? Things have improved so much since <strike>shep </strike>er Davey became manager haven't they, I mean quality performances and quality signings.
I was gutted to see Ritchie leave And look where we are now, if only GS had listened. SD can **** right off back to Swansea the little Welsh tart.
Didn't say that I wanted Davey in but I thought that Ritchie should go. Never wanted him, never rated him. Same applies with Davey.
HINDSIGHT ????? I don't know anyone apart from a few on here who wanted Ritchie out. Also you can only really judge AR up to the Wednesday game after which he was treated so shabbily by the club that performances went down the tube. I was fecking gutted when he was sacked !!!
If we'd have replaced Ritchie with somebody half decent then it would have been the right decision. Let's not lose sight of the fact that we collected an almighty total of 4 points from his last 10 games. It's not the decision to sack Ritchie that's the wrong one because we were still going down under him. I agree however that Davey is worse. At least under Ritchie we would have gone down fighting and by playing an attractive brand of football. Not only has this idiot wasted 150k on the worst 2 midfield players I have ever seen, but to accomodate these donkeys he's ruined what was a perfectly good central midfield partnership between Howard and Togwell. He has no motivational skills at all, hence the spineless displays against Wednesday, Southend, Cardiff, and today's shambles. For me Blackwell would have been my choice. Or if we had to go for someone with no track record Redders and Winnie would at least have instilled some fight into the side.
just got back from a heavy night. and folk on this bored get under me skin. i'd have sung me heart out for a battling attempt to play football today, under richie we wud've passed the ball and at least tried. today was shocking. mitch ward would stand out in this team. ritchie sacked coz he dint want to bring in new players? well if mattis and mccann are the quality he rejected then i agree with him. i'll get behind the team regardless of where we are, but bloody hell. they dont make it easy for us. and to make things worse. im at uni in notts and live wi a col utd fan. the train journey back was the longest of me life. n e rode. im off to bed.rant over goodnight all x
Ritchie out! Head tennis (milkman style(never met Roundsman(ME)))-dbk3000)=lovely person)=thingy=Lack of close brackets.
Panic by the Board Look at Southend. They were in a far worse position than us. Their board and fans didn't panic, they stuck with Steve Tilson and didn't ship in players that were no better than those they had. I'd lay money on them avoiding relegation, but not us.
RE: Right decision. Of course Ritchie had to go. He made no effort what so ever to try and halt the slide.
Look at this seasons performance under Ritchie, how the team started with some fire in their belly. After a dozen games or so it dawned on them that choose how hard they worked and how much effort they put in they were not good enough for the Championship. Howard, Togwell and Devaney being the exception.
McIndoe who was by far our best player and our leading scorer jumped ship. He would have gone even if Ritchie was still the manager.
The buck always stops at the manager but its not the manager who is making basic school boy errors or strolling round the field looking as if they can't be bothered.
What this team is crying out for now is a complete back four in place. Why Davey thinks we can survive with a back 4 which lets a player run rings round tree them without even attempting a tackle is beyond Johnnys comprehension.
Before the Ritchie brigade start spouting the Morgan/Luketti nonsence I can assure you there was no chance of either of them coming to Oakwell under Ritchie.

RE: Right decision. sorry pal, your wrong ritchie should not have gone. he wanted to bring quality in to oakwell, can you honestly say any of our new players are that ? you 'ritchie out ' brigade make me f'kin sick.
RE: Right decision. Why didn't he then? I know for a fact that some of Ritchies allegedly players he wanted to sign had no intention of signing for us. I know that from the players concerned.
Ritchie just used this quality arguement as a smoke screen. Players who were coming to the club were turned away on their way to the medical beacause he changed his mind. He was the manager who said we are a League 1 Club, that one of the reasons he he was sacked.
Why didn't he work on the training ground to try and get things right ?
Why wasn't he talking to the Chairman?
This Ritchie myth ranks along side that of King Arthur .

ff

Yes He did not know how to change hs way of playing - so we would have not got the scrappy points I agree it would have been nicer football to watch
