At some point we are going to revert to 442 to hopefully allow the likes of Jennings and McCourt to make a difference, but I really worry about the full backs we have available.

At right back, Wiseman is the best of our fullbacks but looks far more accomplished on the right of a back three. jimbob is just about passable as a wingback but no way on earth is he a right back and Bobby seems to be surplus to requirements.

The two left backs, both desperately lack height, pace, grit and determination, and they offer nothing going forward.

If I was flicker they are the two roles I'd be looking to fill with quality next

Golbourne was outstanding at leftback last year. Flickers asking him to do too much at the minute and its not getting the best out of him. Let him get back to defending and he will be fine.

Nah, we need someone who's going to put the effort in every position. Looks to me like they're still living off the last game to me, might as well pull up a pew and light a 'gar. No change in personnel, just a change in attitude to start with, then we can see where further strength might be needed. Until the whole team get off their collective backside and start fighting the rest is academic.

It would nice to have a balanced squad, where we can play players in their correct positions whatever the formation. And its possible to do that with flickers stated ideal of twenty players.

The squad is anything but balanced at the moment so consequently we see square pegs in round holes and shambolic defending as a result.

Outstanding? That was the biggest myth that came out of Oakwell last season.
He was OK. Nothing more. He had serious limitations coming forward... as he still does.
