Just thinking about our best 11 since we got back in this League and we have had 3 real good RB's just wondering if we could get one back which would you have? John Stones Kieran Trippier Ryan Shotton
Trippier! Gets forward well and provides alot off assists. Something that stones didnt do I thought. Didnt really see shotton.
Amazingly, considering his age, probably John Stones and he's only going to get better. Certainly the most naturally talented of the three. Aside from some dodgy slide tackles, Shotton had everything at this level - I really rated him. Trippier was quick and had a good cross on him but was limited in other areas I thought. Fine margins though - all great players.
stones only 2 years younger isn't he? And at the time off them being here I think trippier was 19-20. The rb position is all about getting forward this day and age. And being able to chip in with a goal or 2 along with assists. Trippier had all off that. And I think his defending was good. Not unbelievable.. But good. I don't think stones was direct enough. Always cut inside and looked to pass. Great defender. But whenever taking a player on he seemed to cut inside alot and pass to one off the midfielders
I assume with your comment Whitey, that Hassell has been stripped of the club captaincy in his testimonial year. Plenty of honesty, integrity & professioalism from the manager if true.
In your opinion, mate. As I said on an earlier post with welshred, this is the perfect medium for him/her to express their views and he/she has every right to express them.
Re: In your opinion, mate. I think my opinion is well known on here and I will not be repeating it again.
Re: In your opinion, mate. You won't go to Oakwell again whilst David Flitcroft is manager is what I think you said, mate? Apologies if I've got it wrong. Fair enough. I just think it's interesting that welshred has written four posts, all of which have been derogatory towards the manager.
Re: In your opinion, mate. I did and I have not been, which is why I never talk about any matches. It does seem a strange thing , joining a forum just to post about the manager !!
Re: Make that four posts Thanks JLWBigLil, didn't think you would miss one of my few posts, not sure if true but if he has been stripped of the club captaincy, I think it is a disgrace.
Re: Make that four posts So you think it is a disgrace if it is true, but you have absolutely no idea if it is? Club Captain is a honorary title bestowed by some clubs on a senior pro, who may or may not be team Captain also. Keith Hill made Bobby club Captain even though it was quite clear he didn't like him very much. David Flitcroft made a point of retaining Luke as 1st team Captain but didn't really say anything about club Captain, but neither did he give the title to anyone else. Bobby continues to mentor the young players and chaperoned them to the away friendlies recently; he represents the club at various occasions such as, sadly, the funeral of young Ashley Banks; he is the voice of the playing staff in the community and writes a weekly column for the Chronicle. And no doubt more besides not immediately obvious, that might fall under the job description of club Captain. Point is, do you really Bobby really cares if he holds the title 'Club Captain'?
Re: Make that four posts We need an out field Captain, Luke Steele can't run the length of the pitch to have a word with the Ref who will ignore anyone else. I'd have Bobby in and I think he's been shabbily treated, his performances last season were nothing short of miraculous given the number of games he'd played under Hill. An experienced player that can perform consistantly in any defensive position and midfield but doesn't even get on the bench , its baffling.
