That the way we played, we'd have beaten at least half the Championship teams. Today, in spells, we were even better, so. Could this team compete in the Championship. Not just survive. Shame all the players aren't ours going forward, but a pleasure to watch.
Re: Right, could get lambasted for getting carried away, but said after the game Tue We still looked untidy in places, and a better team would definitely have punished us in that spell at the end of the first half. But if we did go up I like to think it would be more a case of judiciously adding a couple of players with championship experience (and signing the ones we've got on longer term contracts) than it would a wholesale overhaul of the squad.
Re: Right, could get lambasted for getting carried away, but said after the game Tue If we did go up, it would give us a great chance of keeping the likes of Hammill, White, Winnall, Hourihane on better deals and a chance of getting some of the loan players in. If, just if, there were to be some Stones money added to the equation, we might be able to build a really decent squad capable of consolidating. It is possible for clubs like us, as Preston and Brentford have shown in recent years. But they're all things to worry about if and when. We've got this team til the end of the season to enjoy, and everything's a bonus!
Re: Right, could get lambasted for getting carried away, but said after the game Tue Look at Preston, out of them, Bristol City and MK Dons, you wouldn't have thought they would be the ones that will easily stay up. It's possible, very possible, Think we'd need 3-4 Championship experienced players to stay in it properly though. But let's get there first! You reds
