That's all we can do. Keith Hill is not going to get the sack, let's be honest with ourselves, and rightly so in my opinion. We need to rally together and see the season out and hopefully pick up more points, hopefully starting Saturday. We know its going to be a challenge, but that's part of being a Barnsley fan is not? It can't get any worse surely, so let's get behind em!
I was about to post something similar, but you've already summed up my feelings. If we all go down to Oakwell on Saturday with the attitude that we're rubbish and we're going to lose then we will. The team needs as much support as they can get at the moment, so if any of the numpties that come on here just to post negative drivel really are supporters then that's what they should do. Pointing out the flaws in a team that's on a bad run is easy. Offering your support and encouragement to try to help them turn it around takes a little more effort, but not much more. I am disappointed with the recent results and performances and expect the manager and coaches to be working very hard with the players to turn it around. But I supported the team before any of the current players were born and I'll be supporting it long after they've left the club. I've seen some great teams in Barnsley shirts and I've seen some poor ones, but most often we have teams that can be good one week and poor the next. I've shouted at players when they've made mistakes, telling them to buck their ideas up, but mostly I offer shouts of encouragement. Booing and jeering the team has never been something I've wanted to do though, because it is never going to have a positive effect whatsoever. Neither is using forums like this to just spout the same old nonsense. There have always been the odd one or two people that get on my nerves on this board, but it was easy to just avoid them. Unfortunately, there are around a couple of dozen on here now that just annoy me (I would hazard a guess that I am about to be pulled to pieces by at least a dozen of them, so please scroll down for examples of the posters I am referring to!). I know that one or two see it as sport and are just people trying to wind everyone up, but others just want to jump on absolutely everything and put a negative spin on it. Yes, I know we are on a bad run at the moment, but it has been going on all season and not just during the recent weeks. The overreaction to every single thing has been stupid. Just read the negative comments about bringing in the keeper from Spurs as a good example. People's first reaction is to knock and take the chance to start having a go at Hill, Rowing et al, without even beginning to consider that someone at the club might just have a little bit more insight than you, i.e. Steele is injured! We are supposed to be the supporters. Our role is to support, through the bad times as well as the good. We're perfectly entitled to our opinions and are perfectly entitled to criticise, so long as we keep a sense of perspective and don't allow the opinions and criticism to step over the mark and start having a negative effect on the very thing (the team) that we are wanting to improve. Otherwise we are simply contributing to the very thing that we are complaining about in the first place and that makes us look rather silly.
Superb post, agree 110% with that! We all support the same club, so let's all get down 'Well on Saturday and offer our full support. Like the tannoy announcer says, let's be the 12th man. You never know, it might help us to 3 points!
