Right, harsh as it sounds, we've got to move on now. Focus on the league and survival

After the game I was gutted. Clearly the match turned on the Odejayi miss (which is exactly what it was) but it did no more than underline why we are in a predicament in the league. We're a tidy side with no strikers. A pair of hard working, decent goal scorers would make us a top half outfit.

I was beside myself when we lost. Felt like I had been punched in the stomache. The truth is though, when the dust settles, as much as we let ourselves down today (I thought the team was ho-hum and the noise from the supporters were likewise) we have to get our heads up, we have to get angry and proud, and we have to start winning football matches in the league. This whole situation will look a hell of a lot better with some points on the board.

I am so grateful to BFC for the joy of beating Liverpool and Chelsea (as unlikely as those victories were) and the fact that we booked a place at Wembley. It's been one hell of a ride - but it is behind us already. We need to stop up, and we need to clear out our 'strikers' - Odejayi, Ferenczi, Coulson and Nardiello can go for me (those that want to stay better start scoring goals now). There is a hell of a lot of work ahead.

When we pulled southend away, i was kind of glad, i was happy to get dumped out 2-0 and left with nothing else to concentrate on but the league.

Don't get me wrong the performances against liverpool and chelsea were fantastic and will be cherished for a long time to come, but you can't help but thinking where we would be now had the league been number one priority??????

I felt the same way. At that time I openly told people that I had no time for the cup - just wanted us to focus on the league and maintaining a respectable finishing position. I got as carried away as anyone else when we beat Liverpool AND THEN Chelsea. We have to pull ourselves out of the **** now though. It's wake up time. How anyone can say, hand on heart, that this whole adventure hasn't be a distraction must be on drugs.
