All this Odejayi bashing. Forgive me but he is by far and away a more valuable member of the squad than Ferenczi and Nardiello, yet no-one gets on their back. Nardiello is possibly the worst player I've ever seen playing for Barnsley, no passion, no desire and no effort. Ferenczi is basically the same, a fecking lazy Barsteward. So give Ferenczi a chance. People say he's had a chance, but he was under pressure all the way from the Barnsley public, something neither Nardiello or Ferenczi were, he deserves another season to pregress with his performances. End of discussion.

I've said all along id have Odejayi NOT Ferenczi

And some slated me, saying Ferenczi is MILES better, but Odejayi is by far the better player IMHO, Least when he challenges for ball we know free kick aint going to go to the Opposition. All Ferenczi does is foul. Odejayi has pace, which we need, we cant have 2 30+ up front, wheres the pace there?

Odejayi will improve next season, he will be having a few weeks training with some class strikers, (Martins Kanu etc etc) so hopefully it gets his confidence up.

Only a squad player for next season, if we are going to improve next season then he can only be used as a part player a last throw of the dice
we need a lot better quality.

    What a load of rot

All our strikers have been poor.

After this season I am not too sorry to see the back of Nardiello, or come to that Ferenczi. However, they both have more goalscoring prowess than Odejayi will ever possess and no amount of graft is going to fix that, I'm afraid.

He'll be part of Davey's plans I reckon. Davey seems to value professionalism very highly and in some cases above ability. But I am sure that if we give ODJ a run of games this season our scoring problems will continue. We need better than him if we are to challenge in this league.

I don't think you can call someone who has scored 32 GOALS for Barnsley 'the worst player I've ever seen'. Come on, get a grip!

think your fingers were getting ahead of ya there pal...

ODJ is not championship standard. Hes had a full season to prove it.

If Davey persists with trying to turn him into something hes not next season we will struggle again.

How anyone can defend him is beyond me.

You can't argue with his strike rate. Its abysmal.

The guy doesn't recognize a shooting opportunities when they present themselves. Hence, his appalling number of shots per game .

Davey must be the only manager in the Championship who is happy with a striker who neither scores goals or makes them.

    subconscious racism...

or even conscious racism in some cases - its the only reason as to why people bash him so much - no other rational reason.

Have we not also seen the form Ferenczi and Nardiello can reach yet they are classed as rubbish?

    Anyway, back to the point.

I like Odejayi, a lot. He may not finish chances, but in terms of things he brings that no-one else does, he brings a lot. He's a valuable asset to the SQUAD. Until we can bring someone in who has everything he's got plus goals I'm happy with him, but when we've all of a sudden got £10m to spend on a striker it aint gunna happen. Someone who's quick, wins a fair share in the air, puts himself about and finishes, got to be worth £10m in the current market?

out of interest what are the great things that odejayi brings to the side?

From what I can see he seems to bring one thing, a target for the rest of the team to just kick the ball towards for him to in turn just head it towards the nearest defender/wherever it happens to bounce off his head
