1st goal all defenders all over the place, 2nd Foster too slow, 3rd deep cross player coming in from a wide position unmarked,4th goal Steel error but Wiseman didn't get close enough tothe player. 5th goal Wiseman loses his man. 6th goal initial shot blocked by Hassell but ball eventually falls to their player. So there was no 1 player worse than any others today, the whole team had an off-day. get over it. Oh and Dawson's was not a 2-footed challenge, he led with his left, but he did dive in.
from memory the first one i thought Perkins did nothing to stop the ball coming into the box. Infact we didnt get tight enough on them all game.
They were all Hassell's fault. Steele fumbled the 4th one because Bobby shouted "BOO" just as Steele was about to catch it.
Has anyone commented on the first goal where Dagnall was clearly fouled (from behind) straight under the Lino's nose in front of East Stand.......no foul.....they went straight up the pitch and scored. Set tone for rest of game. Officials at Oakwell this season have been, on average, truly awful.
It has been mentioned in other threads and also the two-footed challenge their player did before Dawson's. However, it still doesn't excuse the poor defending. I said yesterday when Charlton were penalised for the umpteenth time for fouls in the first half, that the first player in the book would be wearing a red shirt.
Just watched it. Where are all the goals that Hassell is supposed to be blamed for? In at least half of them Hassell gets a challenge in and blocks a cross or a shot! He's unfortunate that the ball bobbles away to someone else. Is he supposed to mark everyone in the box at the same time?
i'm pretty sure all 6 were directly hassell's fault. also, if you watch very closely, 10 seconds before the red card, bobby goes up to daws and whispers in his ear - 'that player over there just said he thinks you're a girly leprechaun'
This is the first thread I've read so not sure what the consensus is but the whole defence was poor yesterday. Fuller and Kermogrant bullied both centre halves, we were constantly pulled out of position, and made bad choices. Exacerbated by Perkins having a really off day first half which further exposed them. But the defence have been tremendous of late, and hopefully they got it all out of their system in one go!
Of course they were all his fault, hence the tyrade of abuse he rightly got on here. And another thing - having given away 6 goals and directly caused 2 red cards, he then went on to miss 4 free headers, 2 one on ones and 2 tap ins which would have meant we won 8 6. If it were up to me he would not wear the read and white shirt again until Tuesday night.
