Forget them lot. We're the comeback story this year. Today is about 11 lads in red. Start of the season, and even as recent as November, we were mid table fodder. Not going anywhere, our new signing striker was sent off in a 3-0 defeat against Lincoln, we didn't score in about 15 games, and our confidence was shot from the worst season in memory. Now we're a win from Wembley. Let's get behind them, and bulldoze whoever is in front of us. Owl, Trotter, whatever - it doesn't matter because the opposition is just another team to beat. 2nd best points total in our history, and but for taking our foot off the gas would have been our best. From where we were that's astounding, and way more impressive than any 120 minutes plus penalties can be. 2 games left. Let's finish the job.
Amen! I can't believe I had to scroll down most of page one to find this post. I was about to post something similar. Michael Duff's men deserve our full attention and a raucous atmosphere later. I've enjoyed this season, because I had little expectation. I always knew we'd got the right coach, but I thought he might need a full season to get us playing the way we have at times in this second half of the season. Whatever happens tonight, this campaign has been a successful one. But as you say, it's just 2 more lots of 90 minutes to navigate, starting with Bolton tonight. You reds!!
Good thread. I couldn't give a stuff about Wednesday at the best of times and they're irrelevant unless we win tonight. All the posts that get put on here about their claiming playing em is our cup final and how they're secretly obsessed with us and then we have a twelve page flaming match thread about em! Come on you Reds. Bolton is where our focus should be.
