When we all chipping a tenner in and buying BFC? And getting shut of a part time Chairman, no time Director and an ill owner? We'll then bring in blokes who give a **** and restore some community pride in it all.

I'll send you all my PayPal.

I'm in if it's only £10. Please spend it on wages for an East Stand TV turner-onner next season

There was a time when I would have seriously considered something like that, but not any more. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

The horrible abuse which club owners, managers, players and staff get on here and other internet sites have put paid to that. Sometimes it even extends to players' families, as we've seen on here. No matter what decision is made, someone will always disagree and post trolling personal insults.

Not for me, got better things to do.

    Rubbish.

Let's all rely on a bloke putting loads of money in then rather than organising and doing something about it.

Dyson, you're absolutely right and if some kind of scheme could be formulated I'd be right behind it. WSB issue 4 - which was superb yet again I add - featured a fantastic article by Michael Roach, which called for the club to engage and unite the fan base once more. Relegation does give us that opportunity and for me is the only way to build a successful club.

We must put two fingers up to money bags football, outside investment and instead build a club that has a driving force from within the town. Imagine the buzz around Barnsley if the club announced a massive slash in season ticket prices and match day entry costs (I'm talking £10 to get in and season tickets for £150 - £180), stating that they wanted to put the club at the heart of the town and make it affordable to every true fan. Forget the average cost of other clubs, but judge it on the average wage of the town and put the people first.

Build a club for the fans, a team of players who care about the town and what they're trying to achieve, including a fair proportion of academy players. Get rid of Lindley's and put local food on as Jay suggests, but make it a true community club. Attract players not through big wages, but through pride and passion and atmosphere; this might mean years in the lower leagues but ultimately a club that respects its fans and puts them at the heart of everything they do.

It may never happen, but I'd be all in favour...

£150 season tickets are not sustainable at any level of professional football.

£350 season tickets aren't sustainable for the vast majority of fans in Barnsley... If you sell 12,000 at £150 you might find it's possible.

I know this is all hypothetical, but I would chip in £10 (well, more actually) for a specific purpose i.e. a scoreboard. I wouldn't want part ownership though, I like Pat being our owner.

Agree, a club on the rise who put their fans first. A League Cup final, a promotion and consolidation in League 1 this season... Definitely a model we could follow.

    10k ST holders at £150 = £1.5m probable total income say £3m ? Wages last year £8m.

    Couldn't agree more.

£350 for season tickets, £23 to get in...gates will dwindle in League 1 and if the team and town morale is down it will continue the downward spiral. take a risk, create a buzz, put fans first and see if it can inject the necessary passion to spark a revival.

So wages have to be cut massively... We've tried with players on high wages who don't care and where's that got us? Attract players by selling the club ethos, the passion of the town and its fans, not money.

I don't think that would work. There is no way we would sell 12,000 while we are in the third tier. I'm not trying to crap on your ideas by the way I just don't think it would happen.

If it was marketed properly, with a massive focus on making the club affordable to the local people with a real genuine desire to make them part of the club, I think you could. Definitely worth employing a market research company to ask the people of Barnsley if they'd support the club if prices were more affordable I reckon.

I admire your utopian view, however most players are mercenaries and will go the highest payer.

I think income of the kind of level that you are talking about could just about finance a lower league 2 club.
