I'm doing the playlist for our wedding (which I'm sure the DJ will abandon after 25 minutes). I've already got loads of ideas but wondered if anyone could unearth some gems I'd forgotten. they can't be obscure so the majority will know them, and I'm focusing on the following: Mowtown/Soul - eg I'm in a different world, this old heat of mine, higher and higher 80's classics - eg she drives me crazy, caravan of love, shout to the top! Britpop - Riverboat song, common people, live forever Modern Indie - Wake Up, On Call, Apply Some Pressure Any songs you want to through in to the mix? Cheers everyone Andy
Weddings are difficult for DJ's because there is usually such a diverse range of people there, it's usually best to stick to the standards and more cheesy songs ie Dolly Parton 9 2 5, Love really hurts without you billy ocean, december 63 Frakie Valley, Build me up buttercup etc, some of the 80's goes down well ie culture club, Duran Duran, Wham etc, if you want more indie stuff Chelsea dagger, etc ie the more poppy sound, but at the end of the day its your wedding and make sure the DJ plays what you want, as long as folk dance he will be quite happy
here goes..... love grows where my rosemary goes - edison lighthouse keep on loving you - reo speedwagon Is she really going out with him - joe jackson For once in my life - stevie wonder Aint Nobody - Chaka Khan Breakeven - The Script How Will I Know - Whitney Houston Your Song - Elton John I'm Gonna Get You Good - Shania Twain Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry Wake Me Up Before You Go Go - Wham Beautiful Girls - Sean Kingston I Think We're Alone Now - Tiffany I Don't Want to miss a thing - Aerosmith Paradise by the dashboard light - meatloaf Take on me - Aha The Power Of Love - Huey Lewis Together in electric dreams - phil oakey Why do fools fall in love - four seasons I want you back - jackson 5 here i go again - whitesnake sweet little mystery - wet wet wet absolutely everybody - vanessa amorosi perfect 10 - beautiful south love story - taylor swift rule the world - take that romeo & juliet - dire straits Christ, I was enjoying that. Hope that might help you some mate Oh, good luck with the wedding too bud.
add the birdy song and agadoo for an almost full suite of reasons to exit stage left to a nearby boozer

Its a top idea doing your own tunes if you have the resource and imagination, like you obviously have, rather than paying some muppet to totally ruin your big day Not been big headed but it was by far and away best wedding i've been to because i quite simply covered all bases, but not tacky Even had say in which Sugababes and Girls Aloud songs went on for kids lol Kudos of people coming up to Groom asking who did music and asking for cd's was the crowning glory (nodding2fingers)

RE: Oh yes there's lots of similarities there - especially the smiths this charming man nt This Charming Man would be a good one, the bride could swing her flowers round her head like morrissey did when performing the song
