I am going on Sunday in the hope we will win, I'm not going for the day out, if I want that I'll go to the sea side.
I was talking to a friend of mine who by his own admission is a part timer (oh i don'tgo, players wages, cost of ticket blah blah blah) he was on about how he was really going for the atmosphere, see the stadium, memories of 2000 etc. He was talking as if this was the end result.. i pointed out that whist this was an achievment, we've won nowt... I just hope that the players will realise this. I'd like us to play well BUT when it comes down I'll take any win asI'm not into gallant failure I want us to win the cup !!
As a comparison when I'm asked about Cardiff in 2006 as to whether I enjoyed it I say ' yes after Colgan saved the penalty' if we'd lost I would have fecking hated it !!!
Now with regard to the league form i have posted that this has tarnished the cup run to me.Well it has but i have to accept that being mardy about this has no place on Sunday so i have to forget about it until Wednesday night when we play Watford.
FA cup or Staying up ?
FA cup would be glorious for the period around the sucess and would write our names into history hell of an achievment !!!
Other posters have suggested that if we are relegated we'll bounce back or take a season in league 1... well what if it's four seasons or ten just imagine the effect that would have on the club.
My choiceBOTH as I'm a greedy Barsteward !!!
Please forgive my ramble, I think its a form of therapy.
Dave (the miserable git !!!!)

Your correct on most points there Dave. Although, if it came down to choosing between survival and winning the cup, the cup comes up way way way way short. Infact, at times I wish we hadn't come back against Blackpool, it's been more hassle than it's worth with ticketing policies, and our league form totally disappearing, although it was before the cup started. If we went down, we'll have wasted what, 4 or 5 years of slow steady work and progress and be back at square 1. If we went down, we certainly wouldn't be bound to come straight back, and whats the chances we'd get the luck we did last season in surviving in our first season back? If we survive this season, we have a good chance, with the right signings of competing near the top of the division, and surely, thats greater success than some deserved, but more than lucky cup run. Not to mention the difference of going to The Ricoh, Carrow Road, Molineux and The Valley rather than Boundary Park, Huish Park and and The Withdean.
You miserable tit Right though on most points Truth is we don't have to choose we can have both, neither or a combination. The question "FA cup or staying up" is actually hypothetical. I think we will get to the final, win it, win all our remaining games, just miss out on the play offs, win the charity shield and the 2008 EUFA cup. Aye the beer was good but you cannot deny it COULD happen.
its the best option imo We get about another £2mif we go on and winthe thing, plus another trip to wembley(charidy shield) and we get to go abroard with the reds, whilst still being ableto be humbled bywatchin us lose at home on a wet tuesday evening to Carlise the following week.We also still get the weekender at sunny Blackpool.
Next season could be a costly one for us reds fans if we're not careful.(Y) (raiseaglass)

I loved the build up to Wembley 2000 But hated the aftermath. I couldn't understand the logic of how anyone could enjoy the entire day after we'd lost. I'm determined to enjoy the fact that we're playing at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi-Final, but the memory will always be badly tarnished if we lose. We're unlikely to ever be in this position again, so I'm determined to make the most of it. That is why (for this short period of time) I'm willing to forget and ignore our precarious league position, even though that appears to make me less of a fan according to some posters on here. Once Sunday is over, there's time aplenty to fully concentrate on Championship survival and I believe we WILL survive.
