where were the areas of weakness in the squad that have been identified ?
Goal keeper (cover/ pressure on Nick) David Lucas
Left back to replace Hecky (and I hate to be critical who puts in so much effort) Man U apprentice
Central defender Lad from Fulham ?
Midfield central area. Mc Cann / lad from Bury
Striker ?????????????
No the're not Ronaldo or Rio but at least we seem be taking a step in the right direction in areas which need to be strengthened.
Box office, well a few months ago there was a shout for Eghiogu and Horsefield, anyone still want them ?
Not perfect I know, and I was gutted when Andy Ritchie (in my opinion) was shat upon, but this is the hand the board has now dealt us so lets see.

Good post mate. Things are starting to happen now. Too many of the anti Davey-Shepard-Cryne Brigade have been having a party on here and in the Chron giving negative views on the Club. Things don't always happen quickly in football. Just ask Man U who are still trying to get Hargreaves. Davey gets slagged off for not having signed 5 Championship players in a day when Ritchie couldn't be bothered to get anyone in at all from Cardiff to his contract termination. I think Davey should be given some credit for acting as quickly as he has. Well done Simon, not everyone on here is a Richie loving Davey hater.
I don't hate Davey. I did love AR though. I hope beyond all hope that Davey does a fantastic job and keeps us up no matter what. However, as a concerned fan who puts their money where their mouth is, I do worry at Davey's lack of experience and stubborn persistence with formations and players in wrong positions as at Wolves; I sat throught hat match, and the shambolic farce vs the fowls and could have wept, that's because my club matters to me, not because I hate Davey or anybody else. I would love Davey to do well; he manages BFC so of course I do!
J.. i loved AR too, gorgeous passing football, but in the end we didnt have the striker to put the ball in the net, or the defence to deal with sustained attack. if he wasnt prepared to sign players to plug those gaps, then we were inevitably going to go down.... its a shame.
But I'm not convinced on Davey's formations...Nardi as lone striker..just didn't work! AR had us playing proper football, wish he'd strengthened the team and stayed, but will still support Davey through and through as my team's manager...just won't stay quiet when they are shocking like the last two games!
yeah, i agree. i think the nardi up front formation was an attempt to cover for teh lack of quality in the midfield at the wednesday game (due to injury and suspension), i get the logic, just dont think it worked.
It's Shepherd and Ritchie by the way. If you expect to be taken seriously with your footballing acumen then atleast learn a few peoples names.
come on own, do you give shepherd credit for signing ecklesly? or just being dogmatic when proved wrong?
If he improves the team then fair play to Davey/Wilkinson/Shepherd/Cryne or whoever has sorted it out. Like most people I know nothing about the guy so how can I comment?
