Knowing that if I make a special effort we normally get a decent result so this morning I realised I needed to do something pretty special, so I got on the computer and with the help of Google and Photoshop put together a plan of what I needed to draw in the sand down at my local beach. This was my idea, Toby riding a donkey towards the Blackpool tower. So I got the dog in the car and we headed off to Bethells beach, once at the beach I realised it might be a bit trickier than normal. Because it's easter monday there were plenty of people down there and the tide was well in. It takes about 25 minutes to walk down to the place I'd planned to do the sketch. Thankfully because the tide was high the bit of the beach I use is only accessable by doing some rock climbing, so it was quiet. I'd picked up a stick on route, the perfect sand drawing length and I quickly got underway, the image is on my phone and I tried my best to replicate it into the beach. I knew I had to be quick as one big wave rolling up the beach could put an end to my efforts. During the 20 or so minutes I had a few people peer over the cliffs wondering what a fully grown man wearing an Auckland City FC shirt with a dog was doing drawing a dog sat on a donkey next to a electricity pylon. Needs must. Here's what I ended up with I'm hoping my efforts will inspire the Super Reds to a much needed victory, a final push to secure Championship safety. GET BEHIND EM
