I've heard at least 3 times today, from different people, Lee Williamson at Watford is on the verge of signing. Don't know any fee's or anything. Could be true or could be tosh. We'll have to wait & see ay.
We we're. I heard a few months back we wanted Hoskins too, who we also wanted from Rotherham at the same time.
No thanks - Neither Williamson or Hoskins have done owt since leavin R'ham and We are as big a club as Watford with similar targets - we dont want to be taking players that they feel are'nt good enough
A certain M Devaney was deemed not good enough by them.... ...and he's done alright for us! Also, Neil Thompson who was surplus to requirements at Ipswich a few years back did OK for us! And a certain Arjan De Zeeuw, released by us when we were in this league, and then by Wigan when they were in the league below went on to play out the majority of the rest of his career in the Premiership. Being surplus to requirements at one club doesn't mean a player can't do a job elsewhere.
the best players we have always signed are players other clubs do not want or deemed not good enough for their team! Ashley Ward - both teams in the prem at the time not much difference between the clubs turns out to be a legend! Redferen, Devaney, Foster, Steele are all examples I do not think Jon Macken did much at some of the loan clubs he was at Ipswich and Palace but he is agreat player! I was impressed with Williamson last season, Hoskins is only young and moved too high up too soon if you ask me but nothing to me suggests these players will be garbage. No matter who we sign, where from, what level they all have to prove themselves all over again, I do not care what they have done in the past its all about waht they can/will do now! Shevchenko is a prime example of this!
