Celebrating the life of the man who saved this club tonight and we come on here and see **** like this.
And it's all down to the current owners who should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Patrick would be turning in his grave if he saw what they've done
Can we get a bit of perspective please? We’ve lost game of football. Bury FC anyone? Overreactions on this board at the minute at laughable, do yourselves a favour log off for the night and come back in the morning when you’ve gathered your thoughts.
Not sure how appropriate it is to mention that today of all days - but I actually agree 100%. I can’t imagine James is too happy with proceedings.
Is that the options then? Sell your best, sign 12 or 13 **** replacements or go bust? The good news is that it means the other 23 teams in the championship won't see the season out so automatic promotion for us
Those aren’t the only options no, it would be ridiculous to think that. Just like it’s ridiculous to think our club is dead, which is what the OP is suggesting in the title.
He said BFC RIP what's the point My point is having a club to support. We have lost a game. We move on.
It is worrying to think we re not going to strive to be the best we can be as a club and are just a vehicle for developing young players to sell at a profit.
In all the years I've supported Barnsley FC, along with other dedicated supporters, I have had to accept the reality that in order to create funds in order to survive, our Club has been compelled to seek out players within our price range in the hope we could improve them and then sell them on for profit. The only difference between then and now, is that there was no prescribed age limit on the players we brought in. When this Board took over , because it appeared that they had considerable collective wealth I was optimistic that the days of scrimping and scraping and living hand to mouth could possibly be behind us. That optimism was short lived when at their inaugural meeting Paul Conway more or less confirmed that the policies adopted under the previous management would continue. He did however add that without doing anything " crazy", they would be prepared to fund attempts to reach the Premiership. Hand on heart and being totally honest, any observer would have to say, that hitherto the Board has failed to live up to their original mission statement. The failure to sign experienced players to cement our place in the Championship and their policy of selling players with the requisite " pedigree" at knockdown prices only to sign young inexperienced players would seem to suggest that all is not what it appears to be down Oakwell way, in short it doesn't seem to be a strategy designed to protect their investment and or give us a platform to eventually reach the top division.
They're a bunch of charlatans. It may not be a Bury situation but that doesn't give me any consolation whatsoever. We have a group of owners who seemingly don't care and that is frustrating the hell out of me.
For The failure so far has to be the recruitment, the whole model and system rely solely on this and yet it has been an absolute shambles..... Who are the recruitment team??
Because it’s our Club, not the Boards. We’ll still be winging on here and throwing away 2-0 leads with 5 minutes to go when the current owners are long gone. So hang on in there. Incidentally it’s okay to have ambition to be something better than Bury. They are not my yardstick for success. If they are yours you’re probably supporting the wrong Club.
