Sh*t. Used to be n a keyboard player in a covers band in that era. We had a sh*t hot guitarist He took away the solo from MJ's 'Beat it' and came back next morning and played it note perfect He was big on Gary Moore stuff too...so obviously Parisian Walkways ended up in the set. Wish I had a fiver for everytime I played 'Jump' Liked playing the keyboard solo coming out of the guitar one. American soft rock in that era was great fun for keyboardist and guitarist alike. Used to have a girl fronting as well with a solid rock voice so we did some pretenders and Heart stuff to. I used to do some vocal harmonies on the Heart stuff but it didn't half make my eyes water
Sad news, RIP. Remember seeing him play Poundcake using an electric drill on his guitar, thought it was going to be a gimmick but sounded fantastic
RIP legend 2020 strikes again. Will be banging him out in the dining room office tomorrow. Will raise a glass at weekend, missus limiting my intake, rock n roll!
