RIP Françoise Hardy

She was an absolute icon to many of us growing up through the 1960s. One of the very few French singers who made it outside of France with an evocative singing voice. Loved listening to her.

 

One of my favourites here - All Over the World. Nice video of 1960s London.

 

Not really familiar with her but I’ve definitely heard that song before. Superb voice and a looked a stunning woman. RIP

 

Yes she was and, as I said, not many French artists made it out of their own country. Edith Piaf, Sacha Distel and not many others I can think of.

 

Got say I have never heard of her and I don't really recall that song. RIP

 

That was in the 1965 charts and she had a couple more but not what you would call prolific

 

I would have been 19 then so you would think I would recall. I was beginning to switch off then as regards pop music and leaned more towards C&W.

 

Not exactly pop music though. A bit eclectic maybe?

 

I loved Francoise, a wonderful voice and a beautiful woman.

 

My pin up from the 60's and 70's with a voice to mach the looks. Sad news indeed.
