    Yep. Echo that. Played before my time, but he was a well respected member of that fantastic BBC Commentary team. RIP.

    Agree on the latter.
    Never saw him bat.
    But a great commentator in the best tradition of TMS . An institution that is going down the pan these days for the want of people like Tom.

    Yes that was easy to see just by listening. . Lots of warmth in his commentary as well as intelligence. And he had that quality of description that never usually openly criticised a player but would instead be suggestive of avenues of inpmprovement . As in CMJ in a way : and as in the antithesis of Boycott et al
