ripped off & accused of slander...... anyone know a good lawyer!?

    printer purchased item on e-bay in early october. It has been 2months now since I purchased item and finally 05 December I received a printer at the 4th attempt of delivery. Only problem was it was the wrong printer. I was told that the first delivery item was damaged and returned the next two, went missing???? I have spoken with the couriers and they claim only one delivery has been made to my address since purchase date....

    I have informed them that this matter is now being passed to my credit card company, I have also informed trading standards and the couriers. The couriers were very keen to talk to the merchant as they had made many accusations agaist them!

    The only thing I have accused the merchant of lying, and the accusations they have made about the couriers... I know it would be my word against theirs, but their ebay feedback also has many negative comments about the couriers......... after giving negative feedback yesterday I recived a call fromthe merchant threatening me with legal action for slander.... on what grounds I'm not to sure.... should I be worried?

    If you made a comment on their website then it would be

    potentially libellous and not slanderous, which gives you a clue that they don't know what they're talking about. They can only sue for damages to their reputation even if you can prove it. It they have a crap reputation then proving it would obviously be difficult and what would be the point.All in all anyone, except someone very rich and famous, who threatens you with libel or slander you can just ignore, or laugh at.

    On thing that did make me laugh was feedback left on ebay....

    "given, better free printer and now wants refund aswell"

    Surely if I had been given a free printer their would not be a refund to give....?
