BARNSLEY boss Andy Ritchie has spoken of his disappointment after seeing Stephen Foster and Eddie Johnson snub the Reds to sign for Burnley and Bradford City.

Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk this morning, Andy said: "I found out late last night that Stephen has gone to Burnley and it is disappointing but that's the way things go in football. Hopefully Antony Kay will sign his new deal next week so strengthening that area of the team is not as necessary as it was before.

"It is a pity that we could not tempt Stephen to Oakwell.

"It is the same with Eddie really and it is a pity that we could not bring him to us as well but we wish them both well".

it's statements like these ritchie which makes yourself look a numpty. If your cognitions are so distorted and you are unable to comprehend the reasons why these players have not signed perhaps you need to be looking elsewhere for emloyment. Be warned sir, do not place to much faith in this chairman of yours,he will not be your best friend when things go tits up.

At the end of the day if you were looking for a new job or have just recieved a job offer, which would you take?

The one offering a big pay rise, or stay where you are just to be loyal. I'm not sure why Johnson turned us down but why fret over it.

For goodnessake Red people on this board are trying to have a discussion and it does'nt necesserily mean they are fretting. Perhaps some fans wish to look at the wider picture and try to reason out why players choose other clubs over us and why the present squad are, in the main , reluctant to sign new contracts. Does it actually not make you wonder why there is so much unrest among the natives and what the cause is. Cause and effect appear to be the hidden issue here.

    What if Kay/Reid got injured

might have to get a volunteer from the crowd. Id definately say no. Imagine Cameron Jerome running at you with his pace.
