In the close season everybody (except for Ritchie) knew we had problems in central defence
So why has it taken this long to look at bringing a central defender in !!!!
Hell Fire..I'm not a proffesional football manager but I have been banging on about problems in the centre of defence before we kicked off this season
The rest of the team when Howard is available has got reasonable cover

Carbon has come good this season, when he plays
But he is too injury prone
Ritchie cannot afford to have Carbon on the books
Get rid of Carbon and bring 2 maybe 3 more central defenders in
One or 2 of these need to be in the 30 - 35 year old bracket
Get this problem area sorted out and I still think we have a good chance of going up this season

It seems to me, Reid is also somewhat injury prone.

Kay's disciplinary record will also mean his missed quite a few games

i think carbons had a decent start, poor on saturday but before that not bad. if richie would stick to playing people where they are meant to that might help, like playing austin left back and replacing him with kay when robbie williams is on the bench. need chopra back tho!

Agreed about Reid.........but Carbon is never and has never been 100% fit in all his playing carrer

Matt Carbon is looking like a "calculated gamble" that has not paid off (certainly in terms of appearances).

It's pretty difficult to just "get rid" of players in this day and age.
In the past, we have paid contracts up. However, can we really afford to do that now?
