When your team is losing you don't laugh during the match in fact you don't even smile in public until your next win
Ritchie was laughing at the Donny match..........Ricky Holden feels every disappointment during the matches and he should be made the manager
Today was the worst match I have been to at the TARN since I was 8 years old

i have been a critic of ritchie but today he did himself proud. he was not happy with the result but he was happy with the lads commitment and the way they tried.

did you see the way he stormed the full length of the pitch when austin was sent off? that was a manager who was as commited as any fan, he went straight down there and backed his players up.

so what if he smiled? hes allowed to smile. its not like we were hammered and laid over and died, we battled well against 12 men (sorry doncaster fans but you had the ref today) and finished the game with 9. we were never going to win the match but his team fought on. what more can we expect than that?

i dont know if you saw but ritchie made sure that every player applauded the fans after the game. he came onto the pitch, applauded the fans and instructed the entire team to do the same. when was the last time a barnsley manager did that?

    The passion is with Ricky

I went and sat at the back of the boxes and beleive me the passion is with Ricky
At one point I shouted to Ricky to drop the linesman and accept a ban - you could see he was thinking about it
Penny had got passion but not enough to come into the stand

Why is it an imperative that BFC managers have to be visibly passionate, Nudger?

I don't recollect us all getting that upset at Danny-boy leaning against the dug-out in his shirt-sleeves with his arms folded across his chest, week after week after week!!

If Andy Ritchie doesn't want to show his emotions during a game, fair enough - there's lots of football managers in the same vein. It's the results on the pitch that count, and that's what his job depends on.

    Managers Job.......is it just a 9 to 5 job ???

    Alex Fergusson
Don't rate him as a manager because of his tactical awareness
But while watching him you have to admire the passion
Guys aroung me today were going balistic - Ritchie were looking round sheepishly

Not sure what relevance the 9 to 5 bit has!

We had a totally passionless manager of England in 1966. Didn't do us much harm in the World Cup though, did it?

I know we all like to see passion from our team and management but not all managers visibly display their passion during a match. Doesn't mean they are not passionate about the game or the club though. Not every manager can be like Barry Fry!

Just because AR didn't display any visible passion this afternoon doesn't necessarily make him a bad manager. Our performances and results this season will determine that, one way or the other.
