<h3 class="headline">RITCHIE JONES - MANCHESTER UNITED PROFILE </h3><div class="articleBody" id="articleBody"><p align="center"><table class="caption" cellspacing="0" width="140" align="center" border="0"><tbody><tr><td class="captionImage" style="text-align: center"></td></tr><tr><td class="captionText"><div class="innerCaptionText">Manchester United starlet Ritchie Jones.</div></td></tr></tbody></table></p> FROM www.manutd.com.</p> Stockport-born midfielder Ritchie Jones brings a valuable blend of graft and guile to United's Reserves. </p> Although his insatiable approach to gain possession makes it easy to class him as a bread-and-butter ball-winner, Jones' excellent distribution and serenity in possession marks him out as a classy prospect.</p> The 2005/06 season was a breakthrough campaign for Jones, who benefited hugely from the loan departure of namesake David, the previous guaranteed incumbent of one central midfield berth. Ritchie's increased action and impressive displays earned him a call-up to the first team for the Carling Cup third round win over Barnet. Jones completed an imposing 90 minutes and was also afforded substitute cameos in the fourth and fifth round victories over West Brom and Birmingham respectively.</p> Ritchie's final first team involvement came in the FA Cup third round draw at Burton Albion, before being sent out to Royal Antwerp on loan. Just days after landing in Belgium, and before he could even make an appearance, Jones was recalled to Old Trafford as cover for Sir Alex's depleted midfield. No further first team action materialised, but Ritchie formed a fierce midfield pairing with Darron Gibson as the Reserves stormed to a superb Treble.</p> The 2006/07 season started with Ritchie still in the Reserves, but an emergency loan took him to Championship side Colchester where he caught the eye with his energetic displays.</p></div>
