Great news because i would rather we keep him then sell him so cheaply. He is a possible future England number one with the shortage of talented goalkeepers we have in this country. Selling him for less then Shewsbury got for their goalkeeper would be bad. Lets keep him unless it's a million pound deal upfront.

REDS boss Andy Ritchie has dismissed reports linking keeper Scott Flinders with a £500,000 switch to Crystal Palace.

Today's Sun newspaper claims the England U20 international has signed a deal with the Championship side.

Speaking to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk this morning, Andy said: "Well I am certainly not aware of it unless it happened sometime late last night. At the moment we have had no further bid for Scott".

    Then again..

the Shrews keeper had played 54 times or summat, far more than Flinders.

He won't want to be kept out by Colgan again this season...

I think its an exorbitantly high amount for a reserve goalkeeper and i would take it - provided we're spending it on new players.

And yes, I would want a breakdown of just where the money goes on strengthening our squad. Speaking as a supporter.

I'd want him as my Number 1 this season (as I did last season). First keeper we've had for a long time that deals with crosses, commands more than the 6 yard area, and gets the ball thrown out quickly.
