REDS boss Andy Ritchie has spoken of his delight after seeing homegrown stars Antony Kay and Neil Austin commit to his side's Championship campaign.

Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Andy said: "It is great news that Antony and Neil have signed on and that really gives us a firm bases to build on this summer. It is brilliant that they have agreed to stay.

"We can now look at tinkering with a few things a little further forward and will be hoping to strengthen in midfield, out wide and up front before the season starts.

"Hopefully we will know more about Chris Shuker and Nick Colgan this week as well".

BARNSLEY boss Andy Ritchie has hinted that Scarborough forward Michael Coulson could become the Reds first summer signing later this week.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a very successful trial at Oakwell last season and looks poised to join up with the Reds on a permanent basis.

Speaking exclusively to www.barnsleyfc.co.uk, Andy said: "Hopefully we will be able to sort everything out to sign Michael this week.

"We will probably sort something out with Scarborough so they will loan a couple of our players for next season but hopefully things will be finalised soon".
