WE HAVE WORKED WONDERS TO GET THIS CLUB TO WHERE WE ARE NOW. I WANT TO FINISH THAT JOB OFF. We will have a chat and that is as far as I will comment on things. We need to have a good discussion and I am sure that will be the case. "My position is the same and I would still like to get everything sorted soon. The Chairman is right and winning football matches is all important and that is what we are here for. That is what I want to do but knowing who will be in charge in the long term is important to the players. "We did ever so well last season on virtually no budget at all. We are playing some excellent stuff at the moment but we cannot finish off games and I cannot have asked any more of the players. They have been tremendous this season - there are certain areas that we have to tighten up and we do need two or three experienced players to help them along. They have been magnificent and no one can fault their effort or willingness to run for the cause. We just cannot finish off teams and keep leads so that is where we need some experienced players to come in and steady the ship. We need that experience. "I am not unhappy at all when the Board suggest players and everybody could do with a bit of help every now and again. They have mentioned names to me and I have pursued them and had my own slant on things. We have agreed on one or two and there have been others that I do not want at the Club. That is pretty healthy and there is no problem with that.
"Why would I walk out on Barnsley Football Club? We have a great team here, we have achieved so much in a short space of time and, although my backroom staff is not extensive, we have worked wonders to get this club to where we are now. I want to finish that job off. I want to be here and keep this club in the Championship. "My relationship with the chairman is fine and has never been bad at all". He added: "Phil Mulryne pulled his hamstring after 20 minutes in the reserves at Nottingham Forest. He was distraught because he has worked so hard and could not believe it. He has trained well with us so obviously that is disappointing. "David Lucas has been in and has trained with us. He will be assessed by John Lukic and hopefully we can get him in a reserve team game next week. We do not know how David has recovered from his serious knee injury although he has been given the all clear. He has to build up his fitness and keepers need a lot more strength and conditioning work especially with their core stability. "At the moment we have Nick Colgan in there and he is one hell of a good keeper. If we get an injury then we know we would have to bring someone in but that would be on loan and there are a lot of names who have been thrown at us. The problem is that they all want to come here and be number one but at the moment we could not give them a game because Nick has been superb. "Danny Cadamarteri has been in all week and I would like to pursue that a little further. I would like to get him into a reserve team game. He has done well in training even though he has had to work on his own for a while. He is fit and is what we need - Danny has pace and power and is the right age. He has experience and can play up front or out wide. He has impressed me every time he has played against us and that is something we could take further. "He can score goals and can create them as well. We need someone to lead the line a little bit and Danny can do that. We can hold the ball up and bring others into play and would be a great addition to our squad. He can also play out wide and we do not have a lot of cover in those positions apart from Anthony McParland.

"We have been in talks with Middlesbrough over some of their more experienced players and maybe we can do that later with a view to a permanent. We are still waiting on confirmation on that"

"We missed out on Chris Lucketti and he does not want to move until the January but we are still interested. If we could do a longer term deal with him then I would be very keen. He is the exact type of player that we are looking for. We have made a lot of enquiries but the players we want do not wish to come out until January when they can get a longer deal. We have been in talks with Middlesbrough over some of their more experienced players and maybe we can do that later with a view to a permanent. We are still waiting on confirmation on that. "We have a big game against Palace now. It is a big game for them as well - they have gone five games or so without a win and we are playing some really good stuff without winning games. We cannot hold onto things and we need experience to bring on the outstanding young players we have here. "We are almost at full strength. Marc Richards has a little bit of a problem with his thigh and he is not 100 per cent so will probably not play. We don't play people who are not 100 per cent fit and it is between Paul Hayes and Daniel Nardiello as to who will come in. We will still give Marc every chance to prove his fitness".

That seems to give a bit of credence To the poster who said we'd enquired about Ugo Ehiogu and Ray Parlour . I also seem to recall that poster being pilloried by others saying there's no way we'd be after some of Boro's more experienced players as they'd be out of our price range .
Hehe, what do I care? I'll only get pillocked to death regardless. I did nothing pseudo wrong either.
it also shows............. that Ritchie thinks before he speaks to the press
He couldn't really have said it any better than he did
Let's just hope Gordon is as calm and sensible about it all when they meet
A good/bad/any sort of win against Palace and all this will die down

No mention of tea or biscuits. Richtea: So, Gord - you've been having a pop at me on the Radio have you? Gord: It weren't me Richtea: Sorry? Gord: It weren't me, it were Gordon the Gopher Richtea: Oh. Right then. Gord: Look at this drink - it's a James Bond drink - wi chocolate in it Richtea: What's it called? Gord: CadburyMartini Richtea: Really? I like it. Gord: It's cheap as well Richtea: How much? Gord: Therteh six pence Richtea: Top stuff. I heard you'd been having afternoon tea with the fans to explain how hard you'd tried to sign players & how little I'd done? Gord: It weren't me Richtea: Pardon? Gord: It weren't me, it were Flash Gordon. Richtea: Ah, okay then. You do realise having a go at me on the Radio & to the fans would undermine my position & de-stabilise that we're trying to do? Gord: Aye. I've got a lovely cooker for thi. Richtea: What? Gord: Get out of my office Richtea: But Gord, we're in the Omega massage parlour Gord: Ar sed get arrt * they skip out of the sauna, Ritchie on Gords shoulders, to the theme tune to Mash.
RE: That seems to give a bit of credence i really hope we sign ehiogu, that would be enough to keep us up i think
My only concern with that is: "Marc Richards has a little bit of a problem with his thigh and he is not 100 per cent so will probably not play. We don't play people who are not 100 per cent fit and it is between Paul Hayes and Daniel Nardiello as to who will come in."
So Tommy Wright is an automatic selection now is he?

Exactly my concern... ...Marc Richards and Tommy Wright are still automatic choices and Nardiello is 3rd or 4th pick. Worrying!

ME Too Anyone in their right mind must have come to the conclusion Tommy can't do it for us,why can't AR see that?
Has anybody else thought that AR has released this to take the attention away from the financial statement that the GS released to take the attention away from the interview that he (GS) gave to take the attention away from the fact that he was getting stick for us not buying players that was taking the attention away from the fact that AR possibly had his eye on GS 's parking spot ....FFS everybody else was putting in conspiracy theories and its no dafter than some that are doing the rounds
Yes he says its either Nardiello or Hayes in, why does'nt he consider playing them both upfont and dropping TW?
