Andy Ritchie expects his Barnsley future to have been resolved by the end of the week.

The Tykes boss has been in contract talks with the club to extend a deal that expires at the end of the season.

Recent reported interest from then managerless Sheffield Wednesday to speak to Ritchie prompted chairman Gordon Shepherd to seek to tie up the manager's future.

Ritchie admits talks are still ongoing, but hopes an announcement will be forthcoming.

"Talks are still going on," said Ritchie. "There are no hitches as far as I'm aware. All being well it will be sorted out before the end of this week."

    Does that mean

Once Ritchie's signed will we be getting some players in or has all the brass gone on tying up AR?

Does he expect to sign B4 the end of the week?

Is this the same bloke that has been saying that he'll be bringing in a new player before the end of the week for 2 months? I wouldn't put my money on it!
