I just wonder if we are not asking too much from this guy. Perhaps he just does not have the ability to manage a football team. I become increasingly concerned when each and every home game (stopped travelling away) there is a noticable lack of positive body language indicating a lack of interest in what is going on. He stands very defensively,folding his arms across his chest with an expression indicating,"I do not know what to do next", I am becomming more and more convinced that this man is out of his depth in the role he is being payed for and expected to perform. However, I do not place total blame on Ritchie for this situation I do think however that both Mr. Shepherd and Mr. Cryne must take some responsibility here. (Before you start giving me some gyp about Mr. Cryne not being involved with team affairs, let me tell you, that, If I had sank X amount of millions into a club I would be looking for and demanding answeres to this unacceptable situ.),meaning the two above names need to take the bull by the horns and carry out an investigation along with the manager and to ask why there is so much negetivity at the club,( an assumption)and to ask why so many of the fans see a differnt game to that of the manager. Is there any foundation in the concerns expressed by the fans ? What methodology does the manager intend to employ/initiate so the problem can be solved/resolved. We cannot keep sacking managers time after time.and no one is suggesting this the case but If the club continue to employ bad manager after bad manager it is not the fault of the guy they employ. It is the fault of the selectors. Here's a situation,as I understand it. Ritchie was initially going to be given a one year contract. But for whatever reason minds are changed and it is increased to two years ( I apologise to everyone if I am wrong). But was he in a position to blackmail(used loosely) the club into giving him two years because he is smart and was aware of the real financial situation and that the club had no alternative. In essence, because he MIGHT have been the cheap option and that we could not afford anything or anyone better we are landed with him. I just do not know of any of the answeres to this unfortunate situation I only know that if things continue and do not alter,we are in deep sh..e. I did not come on here to offend neither to make accusations but, given the current state of play, someone somewhere needs to take hold and introduce a problem solving technique and turn matters around because as sure as I'm riding this bike, Ritchie wont. Again I apologise to everyone, particularly the pro. Ritchie lot but I too are becomming disillusioned and concerned. Rant over. ff :-| :
Comment from Ritchie in todays Star: "We'll be having a heart to heart tomorrow, it's about time the players had a go at each other when they're out there. If someone's not doing it out there they should be yelled at and not only by us from the dugout." I think he's basically admitted we dont have a leader out on the pitch.
He's da boss sort it. That said, one would expect maybe McP and Burns to be more vocal, as well as the skipper on the day. Think Heckingbottom will ahve a more positive influence in that area.
Could have told him that our side was quiet especially the "captains" at the start of the season. Winner needed. Still.
Colgan too when the defence back off and let a shot in he seems mad but doesnt give them an ear bashing
