... was winning promotion. His success undid him. Had we stayed in League 1 he would still have been manager now. What does that say to up and coming managers?

Doubtful IMHO If we had stayed down, I think fewer players would have stayed, McIndoe and Togwell would not have signed and we would have a far weaker team, floundering in the lower half of League One. Only if we were in promotion contention in League One at this stage would Ritchie still be manager and I don't see how that would have happened.
eating that piece of toffee if he hadn't had to rush off to the dentists he could have got it sorted with gordy
We were in the play-offs on merit You may get lucky in the odd game, but over a season you finish where you deserve to be. We did it with an extremely tight defence and a very good work ethic. We thoroughly deserved our promotion.
RE: Very fortunately Last season League One was an awful league to put it bluntly. We too were very poor IMO. Always grateful for a promotion, but the gap that was once only between the Premiership and the Championship really is emerging between Championship and League One. Despite our good defensive record last season, most of us knew that really we had a poor defence. The amount of opposing strikers that were getting into scoring opportunities last season was alarming to say the least. But the quality of the (*****) strikers in that league meant we were let off on most occasions. We all knew that the same defence would be crucified by the calibre of strikers in this league. Well, all apart from Ritchie that is.
Had Swansea been promoted, im sure they would have pushed the boat out NOT to settle for survival, but to push on to bigger and better things. All we simply wanted/want is survival. But the fact Ritchie hadn't strengthened the team signalled to me that we wouldn't be surviving the drop by the season's end.
Unsworth, Shipperley and Lucketti are available for loan from Sheff Utd. I wouldn't expect us to get all three, but I honestly think that if we could get these three, that would be enough for us to survive - providing they were all stay fit.

What position did we finish again last season in league One? Surely with that method, Brentford and Huddersfield should have gone up having accumulated more points than us?
Just a thought. Im with Spartacus on this one im afraid.

we finished 5th and then had a poor game vs Hudds at home, a stunning performance away and a cling on for dear life game in Cardiff.
We almost threw away our entire season when we let Burns go and did not replace him. We failed to add to our impotent strike force, yet despite our failings and end of season decline in the league, we stumbled into the playoffs on the back of our rivals failure to capitalise.
