RNL to Huddersfield?

Not signed the new contract yet, which considering his treatment over the last 12 months doesn't surprise me.

Robins is a big admirer of him, and tried loaning him for Coventry.

Robins has got the Huddersfield job.

    RNL is a Huddersfield lad.

We'd be due compo anyway so long as they offered him the same or better wages, but I think it'd be a blow. He's definitely a talented kid who quite clearly needed the 'arm round' treatment, not the 'deconstruction' treatment.

Just my opinion, and just putting it out there.

Not impossible but I think he'd be daft to refuse a contract with us if he's going to be offered one in the next few weeks as has been mentioned.

Hope he stays. Debatable whether he'll ever fulfil his potential but the raw attributes certainly are there. Easy to forget he's still only 19 and has got time to develop.

I think we've got more chance of him staying with Flicker in charge.

Hope he stays. Can't really change a winning team to include him though. I wonder if he'll get a run out on Saturday.

    He needed to learn whitey.

Big fan of his but he did switch off at times which was due to him playing at a level or 5 to low for years.

If he and his agent which i thinks star managment are think about anything else than money he will stay. He needs to look at Stones and think if i do well here i will get my big move.

Its possible next season he could be in a team with maybe 2 more of his age or younger.

Just cos we've sold one player for a tidy fee, doesn't make us the only place to be, to further your career....tbf a lot more players have left Barnsley (or released)and furthered there own careers, than we have nurtured to there potential ...

I think now we are growing in that area.

Not sure who it will be but we will sell another of the younger players next season for sure.

I think for Reuben its the only place to be at the moment. He's got immense talent and i hope he just keeps fit because he will light up oakwell or sure.

"Hopefully he can follow in the footsteps of players like John Stones and Jacob Butterfield who have earnt themselves deals with Premier League clubs.”

No Don, he can hopefully become a decent Barnsley player. Sheeesh. You do wonder who is minding the shop sometimes.

We've been watching RNL for nearly 5 years on and off. Most of that time spent injured. There's occasional flashes of quality, but nothing to suggest he could one day play in the premier league.

I'm glad he's signing a new deal as he's got potential. But like Mr C i've seen nothing to suggest he will be premiership standard one day. He's been overweight at times, never been a regular, gets depressed quickly and is seemingly made of glass. If we can keep him fit long enough to have a good run in the team that would be a start.

Bring this up in a few years if you want but if he can stay fit hes got the talent to be up there in the premier league.

Due to injury's and other things hes never been at his best in the first team yet but you ask anyone who's seen him at reserve or u18 level and they will tell you hes a top top talent.

Hes as talented has Stones for sure.

Glad he's signed up for the adventure. Shame it's a rather short contract but I'm of the opinion that he's quality and he's shown that in limited appearances. He's scored two wonder goals in about 5 or 6 starts for the club, as well as creating goals for others.

But just like Keith Hill got some on here believing Bobby Hassell was spent as a defender, he also got some to believe Reuben was on his way to the non leagues.

Glad Flicker sees things differently, for now.

you have to admit though whitey that he did need to learn about off the ball skills.

Also, he could play in the three we have know because hes a very good passer of the ball.

Credit to Simon Davey as well for seeing his potential at 15.
