How do you get from the M6 southbound onto the M1? According to The AA, the only way is to go off the M6 onto the A66 or something, then follow that for a while, before getting on the M1 at Junction 40. Isn't there an easier way than this?
That helps a lot, thanks. I forgot to add that it was part of a route coming to Barnsley. Much appreciated mate (Y)
When i was in Glasgow it took for ever to get home. Game up the weekend the Partick game was postponed) Went to see Rangers Milan by Train that took for ever. choose what it take for ever mate. My only suggestion would look for a cheap flight to LBA
I think the average is about 4hours from Glasgow - Barnsley...which isn't too bad. I'd rather come down on the bike, so I have transport whilst I'm down. Just trying to find the simplest route, rather stick to motorway all the way down than coming off, taking numerous A-roads, etc.
Going on the A66 from junction 40 of M6 at Penrith all the way to Scotch Corner then straight dowm A1(M) to Barnsley is not a bad route to take. Alot of bikers like the A66 route. I have been on that route going and returning from Carlisle in the car and IMO it's a better route than the motorway and an easier way (less roads) to remember. Try both ways, one coming to Barnsley and one going back and let us know which is best!!!
