    Yes

Nowt to hide and they aren't keeping the fingerprint, just checking with ones on file.

Although, on the other hand (no pun intended), you wonder at what point the intrusion becomes a police state.

Actually I would have thought that would be a bit right wing for Easty

I would have backed the possibility of him being more liberal and saying 'the intrusion is too big an infringement on civil liberties' or 'thin end of the wedge' perhaps.

No, what's the point, anyone who has something to hide will just

say no anyway. Unless they're really stupid.

what about when they drive down a dead end and can't leap over an unfeasibly high brick wall to escape?

Then they should have a fight - leaving the plod with one hair out of place and a slight black mark on their face which they can wipe off.

As a frequent visiter to Dewsbury I woud be very annoyed if I was asked to give my finger prints when stopped by the Police.

I have been stopped and breathalised for nothing more than having committed the "crime of driving my Son to his Home at midnight".

The reson for stopping me was given as "being out of area".

George Orwell just got his timing a few years late.

    At the moment

It's to test the technology, not sure about the fact it can take up to 5 minutes though to get results back.
Once they've done the tests then the possibility of legislation to make it compulsory will come along.
