It's strange all the players wanting to stay and play for Barnsley!

Simon Davey can't be as bad as some of the posters on here would have you believe then!

May have been one year on £6k here and .....

...... 3 years on £2k a year there, it's hard to conclude what the reasons are for him signing without the full facts

He would if the money was right and he's settled around here ..

... don't know his circumstances but he may have a wife who works in South Yorkshire, kids at school etc.

From what I heard, he had a few bust ups with Davey because he says what he's thinking rather than keeping his gob shut like some of the other players do, but overall he'slike any other Pro, when he's in the team he's happy, when he isn't in the team he isn't happy.

I'm glad he's staying, we can't afford to lose any of our first team squad because we all know they will be replaced with untried, unknowns from Belarus or Molodova

I agree and decisions aren't made on single reasons alone

But this ongoing assumption that everythings miserbale behind the scenes just isn't borne out by the facts. The players, chairman, departing players have all rubbished it but people who don't like Davey continue to persist with it.

In terms of players from abroad, that is done due to limited budgets and it has paid off in many cases (muller, colace, bogdanovic). I would love to sign a proven English player but so does everyone else and they have more money to spend (eg Jamie Ward)

    why are people questioning

his reasons for staying? he's said it clearly:

"I could have jumped ship but my family is settled and I am enjoying my football. I love it here."

good lad, good defender. glad he's staying with the Reds :)

What Kozluk said about Chris Morgan was shocking, and he need to be brought to task about it.

IMO he should have been shown the door before the ink was dry.

I BACK IAIN HUME, do you?

Perhaps the sign on the back off the ponte should have said 'THE FANS BACK IAIN HUME, BUT ALL OFF HIS TEAM MATES DO'

Of course i back Hume, just like every other fan does and what Kozluk said wasn't nice but at the end of the day Morgan's one of his best mates, he shouldn't have said it but he did. Just don't think Kozzie will have waranted a gobful off you.

Not for one second am i defending Morgan because it was a disgraceful, thug act and he should have been banned straight away, people get locked up for that outside of football.

    Good news

Good player, but if he's going to continue at left back I would get that Richard Steadman in to swap his legs over. Still time to heal up before the new season.

    Agreed

That, in a roundabout way, is what I was getting at.
