I know we could never afford him, or he wouldn't see his twilight years at Barnsley, but he was in the papers recently moaning that no clubs have come in for him. Why don't we offer him the chance to stay with us until January on a pay as you play basis. Keep him sharp, prove he can still do it, and do a job for us. If he doesn't find a club before long he won't be match fit for new season having missed pre season
Because he's a fat waste of space who has no need to ever pull on a pair of football boots again due to earning about thirty quadrillion pounds from property deals. With that in mind, I fear that his level of motivation for playing in front of 10,000 in our division would be negligible. Players like him - even on pay as you play - are the route back to financial meltdown.
