Which 4 in the midfield 4/4/2? He keeps trying to find the solution but how can he when players put in a good show one game then disappear/lose form in the next. Seem to remember some of the better Davey games had Colace/ De Silva in the middle and JCR/ Dev out wide? Add Hallfredsson, Hammill and Butterfield to the mix. Bring in a scratter in Doyle too, which seemed to work, and how do you then perm your best 4 to consistently get hold of and run games. Headscratching all round. Perhaps if any of 'em were consistent, they'd be at a higher level? So tomorrow's midfield is going to be.................

He's still learning where/how they play best I suppose.

Either that or he's going for the same type of thing Manchester United do, and I don't mean win the Premier League. Fergie has quite a few midfielders and I don't really think any one of them is guaranteed a name in the starting eleven every week. They all offer something different and he plays them depending on form and the opposition.
