BARNSLEY were last night edging closer to making Mark Robins their new manager. The Rotherham boss is their number one choice for the post – following the departure of Simon Davey – and it is thought that an announcement will be made over the weekend, after Robins has met Oakwell owner Patrick Cryne. The Millers have opted to place the 39-year-old manager on ‘gardening leave’ – and therefore he will be absent from their League Two derby clash with Chesterfield at the Don Valley Stadium tomorrow. The Chronicle have made contact with Cryne. Read what he has to say in Friday's back page Oakwell story.
