... that the most satisfying, single most important point in his life, was not winning silver against Johnson, (which is like winning Gold in any other era), but instead he said the best thing was winning Gold in the 4 x 400M World Championships and beating the Americans. Why? because the night before the event, when the Americans were the overwhelming favourites, the 4 British guys got together and decided to change the running order. Instead of leaving the fastest to last, they ran their fastest first, so that after three legs the Americans were completely phased. How come the British lads were still in the race? The Americans bottled it and Britain won the gold and Roger Black was the proudest man in Britain. Four individuals against a four man team. 4-5-1 will do me if it suits the boys and the gaffer on Saturday. Now lay off.
Kriss Akabusi did a speach at a conference I was at October last year... and finished off with the video of it. Very inpirational! The only drawback was it was a well rehearsed monologue, with no Q & A, plus I'd been up since 3am to fly to Glasgow and the speach was at 4pm and still had to get back home and work the next day. I've just started his book 'Kriss Akabusi On Track'.
